Bunnings

Objective

Our goal for these events is to establish strong connections and establish a prominent presence in Bunnings stores. The aim is to secure a letter of recommendation from each store, which we can then present to the Bunnings executives. Our ultimate objective is to form a partnership between Dads Group and Bunnings, enabling us to organise events at Bunnings stores across Australia.

How you can get involved:

  1. Run your Dads Group catch up/event at Bunnings.

    • Kids Craft sessions at Bunnings are fun and provide creative projects like toolboxes, toy trucks, planter boxes and paintings.

    • Workshops run every Saturday and Sunday, contact your nearest store for information on what’s on this weekend. Please note that as numbers are limited, bookings are essential.

  2. While you are at this event, try and build a relationship with the coordinator of the event.

    • This is an opportunity to share about Dads Group

    • You could also ask if there is an opportunity to hang a Dads Group banner

  3. Capture photographs during the event.

    • This is a great way to publicise your events and can help attract new members

  4. Promote the event on social media platforms.

    • Dads Group will then use the photos that were taken to promote the events over LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. The purpose for this is to get Bunnings attention and to also encourage more attendees.

  5. Obtain a letter of recommendation to encourage involvement from other Bunnings stores.

    • After attending a couple of Bunnings events and if you feel that you have established a strong relationship, get in touch with the person organising them and ask if they would be willing to write you a letter of recommendation. This letter will be used to encourage other Bunnings stores to collaborate with Dads Groups.

  6. After we obtain 5 letters of recommendation, we will then present to the Bunnings executives with the hope of Dads Groups being run in ever store around Australia

Social Media

Objective

Ambassadors sharing social media posts is super important because it helps spread the word to more people. When ambassadors share posts on their own social media, they use their followers and influence to reach a bigger audience. This means more people see the content, which can boost brand awareness, get more people engaged, and even lead to more organisations joining the movement of Dad Group. It's a great way to get the message out there and make a bigger impact.

How you can get involved:

The posting schedule consists of two posts per week, each tailored to specific platforms:

  1. Regularly Engage:

    • Actively engage with posts created by the Dads Group team by responding to comments, liking and sharing relevant posts, and participating in conversations related to your DG's cause.

  2. Share Branded Content:

    • You can request a package of pre-made, branded content such as images, videos, or infographics that you can easily share on your social media platforms.

  3. Tag and Mention:

    • Tag Dads Group social media account to posts that you see that are relevant to our cause. This helps increase visibility and allows your network to discover and engage with your DG more easily.

  4. Create your own content:

    • This can include event reviews, testimonials, or creative posts showcasing your experiences. This content adds a genuine and relatable touch to your social media presence.

  5. LinkedIn Posts:

    • Create posts targeting health professionals, urging them to collaborate with Dads Group and emphasise the importance of coordinated support.

Fundraising

Objective

The objective is to generate funds to sustain the goals and endeavours of Dads Group through fundraising opportunities and contribute to the growth of our annual Man With a Pram event.

How you can get involved:

Personal Fundraising Efforts:

  • You can set up your own fundraising pages or campaign on platforms like GoFundMe or crowdfunding websites e.g. Raisly.com. You can share their personal stories and reasons for supporting Dads Group, and actively promote your campaign through your social media channels, email newsletters, and personal networks.

Dads at Work Programs

Our Dads at Work programs are designed to help employers support new parents as they dive into the exciting journey of becoming mums and dads. We're experts in assisting fathers, and we team up with organisations to create a customised approach that fits their needs, no matter how big or what industry they're in. Our programs have three levels of delivery: Consulting, Training, and Events & Programs.

By selling these programs, Dads Group can generate income and sustain its initiatives.

How you can get involved:

  1. Gather information about the Dads at Work program

    • We'll provide you with a brochure that explains everything you need to know about the Dads at Work program.

  2. Identify Key Decision-Makers:

    • Figure out who the important decision-makers are in your organisation. They could be HR managers, supervisors, members of the people and culture team, or executives.

  3. Seek Support:

    • Get support from other employees who are also interested in helping working fathers. Form a group or network to collectively advocate for the program and gain more influence.

  4. Schedule a Meeting:

    • Ask for a meeting with the key decision-makers you identified. Present your proposal and highlight the benefits of the Dads at Work program.

  5. Connect Key Decision-Makers with a program DG Coordinator

    • Tom Fegernis

    • Arran MacDougall

    • Blair Keeble

Man With a Pram

The Man With A Pram event is held nationwide every year on the weekend of Father's Day (September 3rd this year, 2023). It brings together parents, children, grandparents, friends, and perinatal health advocates for a friendly walk, celebrating and supporting fathers and father figures. We invite you and your community to participate!

Man With A Pram serves as a fundraiser event, aiming to raise awareness and funds for perinatal mental health programs and research. Your participation helps contribute to the advancement of these vital initiatives.

Note: a problem we have had each year is that there are plenty of people going for the walk but minimal funds being raised. This is something that needs urgent attention in 2023

How you can get involved:

Using the Bunnings section as a reference, what do you think are the most practical and achievable steps to organise and gather funds for the Man With a Pram event?

Hospital

Objective

Our goal is to establish connections with maternity hospitals and obtain Letters of Support. These letters will serve as compelling evidence when presenting our case to the federal government, highlighting the necessity of implementing Dads Group programs within hospitals.

Objective

Identify and engage with the major maternity hospitals in each state

  1. Build initial relationships with hospital executives and administrators, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders/decision makers

  2. Setup zoom or face to face meetings with Dads Group management and hospital management to secure their interest to implement the program in their HHS (Hospital Health Service)

  3. Support the deal closing and contract process where possible

  4. Support the media release of the program launch
