Shaping the Future of Fatherhood Support

We want to stop for a bit and recognise the incredible few weeks we've had! We're genuinely changing the game when it comes to support for fathers.

We've been in the thick of it for nearly a decade, creating different Dads Groups to help reshape the story of new families. Our aim? Making sure fathers or father figures receive the support they need.

We all know how critical this is. As parents, grandparents, relatives, or health pros, we have our own story in this journey. And it's these stories that drive our collective passion for change.

Here are some updates we would love to share with you:

  • Major news! The Victorian Government have recognised Dads Groups are important. They have seen the impact of our work, and they're putting cash behind it, supporting the creation of dads groups state-wide. It's historical! While they haven't officially recognised us as the lead organisation, no other group has been as hands-on as Dads Group, consistently collaborating with councils, hospitals, and non-profits to create these successful, sustainable Dads Groups. It's a significant achievement, and we should be proud!

  • The tables have turned! Instead of us running after councils trying to convince them of the new for dads groups, we now have over 30 councils reaching out to us, curious about what we're up to and how they can team up with us.

  • Some of our existing Dads Groups are getting a fresh burst of energy with new leaders taking charge.

  • We have a new Dads Group representative in Canberra connect with us and outline they have their own funding from their organisation to create a new Dads Group.

  • Media is buzzing about us - radio, papers, you name it.

  • Cheers to our brilliant new board members for diving in headfirst and creating fresh support models and structures for our future by creating our Sockless Heroes fundraising campaign, making up our Finance Committee/team, Grants and Funding Committees/team.

  • Special shoutout to Tom Fagernes for presenting our programs to the Maternity Hospitals Network

  • We have had volunteer leaders step up and build inroads to their local MP's and Councils to create new implementations of the DG program (Alex Dugdale Andrew Marmont)

There is a lot more going on, but we hope these highlights encourage you.

In a nutshell, we're not just changing how dads and families get support. We're influencing big-time policy changes and showing the world the magic of Dads Groups.

Thank you so much for your continual support team!
